Schools around coffs-moving to the area

As you would know there is a lot to consider when moving to a new town and where you are planing on living. I do not know about every school in the area only what I have heard from other parents and as you know there are good stories and bad stories from every school. My son who has Autism goes to mainstream school at Sawtell public and we have found that it is a very good school for both our children - one not on the spectrum. I will not say that every thing is perfect but if you talk to the teachers/principal about any problems, things that can be sorted will be, you just have to be realistic. You also have to take into consideration funding if your 9yr old son has been home schooled you may have to apply for funding and wait to see what happens. If you were going to keep your 6 yr old daughter in a special needs class there are only two public ones that I know of (like I said before I dont know all about every school) and I dont know that much about catholic schools with funding etc. With the special needs class there is one at William Balydon School and one at Coffs Harbour primary school. If I were you I would start making some phonecalls (if you have not already done so) and ring around the area that you think your family may be planning to live in when you move here and ask the schools for their brochure and maybe have a talk to some of the principals in the local area. And as for your 12yr old daughter if you could affort it, I would be sending her to the catholic high school because the local public high school has over 1100 children. That is only my opinion.

I hope that helps a little.
