Quoteable Quotes
Hi to all the Mums, Dads and Carers out there!
I thought it might be fun to start a thread about the funny situations that arise from our kids being soooooo literal!!!
I reckon we could all use a laugh at some time or other.
Here's one to start:
Whilst driving to our new home, had a friend's ASD child in the car. He asked his mum: "How far now?"
Mum: "About a kilometre."
Son (after some quiet consideration, and in a very concerned voice):
"Mum, how do you kill a metre?"
Ongoing laughter from the rest of the car!

Hi there,
My son is picking up things my husband & I say in everyday situations more than we thought.
Our son, 4 1/2 years with HFA, is going through the WHY? stage. when I cant answer his question any further, I tell him "that's just the way it is sweetheart" and he is happy with that. We were in the kitchen the other day having morning tea when I asked him a simple question behind an action he did (cant quite remember what it was now) and he replied " cause that's my job". This surprised me and I was didnt know where he had got that from so I asked him why it was his job. he looked me straight in the eyes with head slightly tilted in a serious face saying, "mummy, thats just the way it is". I looked at my husband and all we could do was nod and turn away for a giggle - he was very serious and i didnt want to upset him.
another phrase- I came home from work the other day to our son playing a game on the computer (one of his obsessions) and asked him where my kiss and cuddle was; he turned to me without taking his eyes from what he was doing and said "Im just a little bit busy at the moment" and continued playing.
such innocence makes me laugh :)
kind regards
