Terms & Conditions of Forum Use

Forum Terms and Conditions

You agree to the following forum rules when registering:

1. All messages express views of the author -  not the forum and its administration
The administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as promptly as possible. It is however, impossible to review every message. Please acknowledge that all posts made to this forum express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people). Hence we will not be held liable for posts made by others.

2. You must converse in an appropriate way to be allowed to participate
Messages which are found to be abusive, obscene, vulgar, hateful, slanderous, threatening, or with an underlying agenda, or which are otherwise in violation  of any laws, deemed as inappropriate by the administrators, and at their sole discretion, will be removed. Users who have made posts falling into any of the above categories may face permanent banishment from the forum or their account may be indefinitely suspended by the administrators. Logs of all forum activity, including the IP address of all posts, are recorded to aid in enforcement of these conditions.

3. Impersonating another forum user, moderator, volunteer, administrator, member or committee member of Coffs Coast Autism is strictly prohibited
You are expressly forbidden from impersonating anyone else, including those named above, even in jest. This constitutes grounds for permanent suspension of your forum account.

4. Self Promotion
Self promotion is not permitted on the forum. Offenders will face suspension from the list for this offence. Your postings should be about the topic under discussion, so feel free to share your experiences, lessons learned, references that have helped you and other observations. However, do not use the forum as a platform to advertise yourself or your company or services.

5. Advertisements
Although advertising and self promotion are prohibited, announcements of new resources and newsletters may provide valuable information to subscribers and such details may be posted to the group. However, since the number and length of announcements could be bothersome to those not interested, their impact should be minimised by conforming to the format below:
• Title of resource, newsletter etc.
• Author/Publisher
• Year (or frequency) of publication
• Description (Keep it brief - up to 5 lines)
• For more information contact/link

6. Spam
Do not spam. No blatant advertising.

7. Personal attacks are prohibited
Personal attacks are posts which are designed to personally berate or insult another. Text of this nature is not beneficial to the community spirit and will not be tolerated.

8. Be specific and objective
Thread subjects should properly describe the content of the thread. Thread subjects like: “What’s this”, “Why isn’t it working”, “So, which is it”, should be avoided.
Do not ask “What’s best” because this question cannot be answered objectively. Each and everyone have their own view about what’s best in a certain area. The best is what works best for you! Advice posted on the forum should be treated as opinion not necessarily as fact.

9. Please use English when posting on the forum
Please use English when posting on the forum as a courtesy to other forum users.

10. Forum users
Be aware at all times that other people using the forum may well be very young, elderly, have social impairments, or be from another nationality. Therefore the forum needs to be a safe and supportive place for all!
